At Reid Architecture Ltd. we believe that any corporation is simply a reflection of its people, and how the corporate structure allows those people to perform for the client. With Reid Architecture Ltd. you will be getting a young, energized, highly motivated company, that delivers direct and involved access to an award winning, published, senior level architect with over 32 years of industry experience, leading an equally dedicated and experienced team.

Our philosophy is to return to grassroots architecture where the architect is not a seldom seen “manager”, but rather the central figure involved throughout the entire project. Integrity, accountability, professionalism, collaboration, and value are at the heart of our client relations. We believe that “Every Design Has a Story to Tell.”

Our Mission

We will build our company through repeat clients, one relationship at a time. Already, as a young start up, we are working with clients that we have worked with for decades. Our plan is simple; we are going to get our clients “hooked” on Reid Architecture Ltd. We know that once you have experienced what Reid Architecture Ltd. has to offer through its “Core Values”, you will understand everything that we have promised is true, and we will be on our way to another referral, or long-term successful relationship.

Integrity

We strongly believe in providing honest, direct, concise communication that ensures clarity for all stakeholders involved. The role of the architect is to convey the message from the design process with the stakeholders to the contractor, ensuring that it is seamlessly represented in built form during the construction process.

Accountability

We believe in result based outcomes with expectations that meet or exceed deadlines. We also feel strongly in holding our team to their agreed upon commitments. Reid Architecture Ltd. prides itself in its ability to consistently deliver quality work. There are several firms in Edmonton that are still using quality control processes that were developed by Barbara Reid.

Professionalism

We pride ourselves on our leadership, delivering messages in a productive and inclusive manner, and having sub-consultants understand their roles within the larger picture. We consistently and clearly address client concerns such as schedule and cost control measures.

Collaboration

We are selective with clients and how many projects we take on so that we build trusted relationships and are available to our clients, as we value their role as the key stakeholder in the collaborative process. Collaboration should be a fun and enjoyable process for all involved.

Value

We are redefining the big corporate selling point “That you get what you pay for". This is to justify their high fees. High fees are simply a cover up for inefficient practices, unproductive teams, along with enormous overhead, that provides very little if any value to the client or the project. We believe in building small, highly productive teams, that can do any size projects. We do not say this without extensive experience working in teams of 3-5 people running multiple projects efficiently and with the Architect as the central figure in all the projects. We are also extremely committed to only taking on a workable number of projects, to make sure we can fulfill our mandate to provide the direct involved service that is the central theme of our company. Barbara Reid enjoys being a grassroots, in-the-trenches, detail driven Architect, and our company will be structured to keep her there.
